The minimum age for a driver is 18, when he/she is allowed to get a licence in Sri Lanka. Although it is possible in some countries to obtain a learners driving licence at the age of 16 (given the driving is supervised by a person with a licence), the rules in Sri Lanka state a person should be 18 by the time of applying for a driver's licence.
